26 Feb New Method Wellness Announces Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Training
New Method Wellness, a premier dual diagnosis treatment center for drug and alcohol addiction, announces an Introduction to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training on Friday, June 22, 2018, and Saturday, June 23, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm for both days. A great opportunity to earn up to 12 continuing education units (CEUs), this DBT workshop is for any licensed or board-certified professional working with individuals who have co-occurring and substance use disorders.
Attendees will learn standard cognitive-behavioral techniques along with reality testing around concepts such as distress tolerance, mindful awareness, and acceptance. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is essential in treating patients with mood disorders, chemical dependency, self-injurious behaviors and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting from sexual abuse and other trauma.
