High risk youth

At New Method Wellness, we acknowledge that addiction and alcoholism do not discriminate against race, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality. The disease of addiction is deadly and progressive taking the lives of far too many beautiful and unique individuals.

Addiction and alcoholism are especially prominent in the LGBTQ community. LGBTQ youth are 3x more likely to become addicted to drugs and alcohol than their heterosexual counterparts. Why is this the case? The LGBTQ community as a whole experience intense feelings of isolation, rejection, abuse, and discrimination as a direct result of their sexual identity. Without the therapeutic help and a positive, judgment-free environment, members of the LGBTQ community develop rapidly increasing feelings of hopelessness with nowhere to turn but drugs and alcohol.

Our LGBTQ addiction treatment program aims to address the fundamental, often deeply-seeded trauma experienced by the LGBTQ community from youth. With an emphasis on dual diagnosis and trauma treatment, our staff is highly trained to treat members of the LGBTQ community with the sensitivity required for a positive and long-lasting journey of recovery.

The LGBTQ addiction treatment program at New Method Wellness offers the following services:

With 30-40% of our clientele on the LGBTQ addiction treatment track at all times and a solid LGBTQ staff, we have a stable community and fellowship available for our clients to utilize during their inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.

New Method Wellness is not an LGBTQ specific treatment center, despite our LGBTQ addiction treatment program. We approach substance abuse treatment holistically, including all genders, races, and sexual preferences.
